Another BAD review

It seems that bill in canada isn't a happy camper when it comes to high quality products from Garrett.Check out his review on the gti2500 over at the metaldetectorreview site.He gave this awesome detector one out of five stars, saying that it was faulty and had terrible depth performance.

I sometimes wonder if the people who enjoy bashing this great machine are dealers working for another company.I own the gti2500 and it's by far the best detector that I've ever used with incredible depth.

1) He couldn't understand how to use it, nor made an attempt to learn how? Newbie?
2) Some had faulty coils, older white coil models
3) Canadian clad coins are made of nickel plated steel and ID incorrectly or as junk iron
4) Sometimes a touchpad button will stick after depressing it, then the 2500 would work poorly
5) Should have got the AT Pro for Canada, guys having good luck with it up here

I had a 2500 and I didn't like it! Why? It was so darn heavy and I have a very bad back. I sold it and bought an ATPro that I love. I think for the money it's probably more detector than most of us really needs. Onus

[size=large]those who like it can write reviews in it's favor. i for one had the little brother, GTI 1500. it was too heavey for me but seemed to be an enjoyable machine. i was a very newbie at the time and sold it before giving it a fair trial. have to figure the GTI 2500 might be fun to use.

He may have had a bad detector from the company and did not send it in for repair, Garrett has an extremely good warranty department, I have had a couple GTI 2500s that were out of tune from the factory but Garrett made it right and I am now a very happy customer, the GTI is a very versital machine, I own every coil for this detector and have never had a coil fail yet, this unit goes deeper than any VLF that I own, you can adjust the frequency up and down from 1k-8k and it hits placer gold better than my gold only metal detector, I also own the treasure hound double coil depth multiplier with the ability to detect down to 15-20 feet , it would be great for metiorites.

The 'Big Green' isn't for everyone, but that just leaves more room for the rest of us GTI2500 users to find the goods that are out there. As far as the weight,it's never been an issue with me.I've used a lot of machines but the GTI goes deeper than any other VLF detector I've used.

Honestly though,a 4 star rating with 65 reviews isn't too shabby.I wasn't so sure about how it was at finding old silver, but quite a few reviewers claimed to have found barber halves and dollars.I have yet to find a mercury dime with it.That would be a milestone for me.

As far as the AT PRO goes it sounds like a do-it-all machine.I think Garrett has out done themselves with this one.
