Every time out with the AT is an amazing day. I am now getting to expect the unexpected. Today, I went back to the old fairgrounds with the AT and it turns out to be an average day with this fabulous detector. For this hunt, I went to where I found three silvers last week with my Explorer 11, but I ran a tight grid and went 90 degrees from last weeks hunt. There is a ton of rusty iron in this very small spot and I mean small(15 foot by 25 foot). The first target that was within a foot of an Explorer dig last week was a no date buffalo. I found two V nickles(1898 and 1901), one Indian, and three old wheats in the next three passes. What is absolutely amazing is I could see all of Saturday's digs. I was beginning to think the AT would not find any silver and just before I left this small area, I got a faint signal that would hit a mid 80's from one direction. Iron audio signalled iron in the mix. I dug at least 9 inches and found a very old, bent sterling silver bracelet. Again today, every signal had rusty iron very close to the good targets. When you get the hang of this detector, it is plain and simple the best detector I have ever used in iron. And to think I am finding these old coins with a very big coil. I would love to see a 6 to 8 inch dd small coil from Garrett. I am half way through my second set of batteries and I have found way more old coins than clad with this detector. I read a advertisement once that touted their detector with this saying"make your old spots new again". Garrett should adopt this motto. R.L.
