Another attempt

Your third and fourth photos are super. The first two look to bright. Just my opinion, for what its worth.
 
Thanks for the input and I think the last ones are better as well.I was experimenting with a led macro light to find out what works best,Ray.

What you are looking for is a directional light. So you can see the coins without shadows but that don't blind you when looking at them. The direction of the light (not straight on but at an angle) will allow the coins to have character and also allow you to show the details on the coins.

Similar to the sweet light outside during those special hours of the day. 2 to 3 hours after sunrise and 2 hours before sunset. Give you great light that allows you to see the contrast on the subject. As opposed to the light straight on (at noon) or the 1st 2 pics in your display, that allow for no character of the light to show up.

Am I making myself understood? Don't want to confuse you/others.
