Spent some time hitting some hills today. The coins are starting to thin out. The days are getting longer, and a lot of the kids are starting to think soccer, which is fine by me. I lucked out on my third memory stick this year, with 4GB of memory. It nearly hit zero degrees today......I worked up a good sweat!

Nice that you got out John. I have taken the old ACE 250 out in -7 to-10 ish. What is the coldest that you've taken the AT out on ? I don't want to kill mine before the season starts.

It was about -30C....The hunt was about 40 minutes. The AT lasted longer then I did. The coiled wire on the headset lost it's spring effect, and I had some concerns about the coil wire just befor entering the coil getting banged and maybe causing some damage to the wire ot water proofing abilities. But.....as usual, Garretts do very well in cold weather.

Where's the rings?
I am almost convinced to try a AT.
My last good ID machine that since trying a bunch since 2005 was the GTi 1500 and 2500.
May just come back full circle...........

I may be slipping, but I haven't fallen yet. There aren't too many rings in this wasteland of ice and snow, however, I did find one in January. Good to hearb from you Sven. Hope all is well. Are you still living in Barrie?

Nope, went from there back to North Bay for about 1 1/2 years. Damn school kept transferring her job back and forth between the two colleges.
Finally said that's enough and we moved back to her home city of London. Lot more Loonies and Toonies to find around here. Only draw back no longer can I walk to the beach within 3 minutes and go detecting.
I think a few more weeks and we might have a thaw.
By the way good thing we moved from NB, a city where many people had no teeth, missing teeth, or rotten teeth. I could have ended up looking like them............

Did manage to get up to Cobalt silver mines for a few hours of picking.
Pictured is one of the larger mines, how it looked like back then and now
