Went back to an old Yellow house where I just started hunting and had an Experience. It was quiet and I was down digging. I had a good sound that I could not locate because there was a 12-18 right beside it. I went to Quick Mask and got the same results. I was using my Coiltek 10X5. I decided I would just cut a large plug and get them both. I cut a plug about a foot around when somebody yelled "what the H@$$ you doing on my property." He was coming at me really fast so I jumped up ready to defend myself. He came up to me and said "I'm just Jacking with you. I know you are the guy that called me the other day."
Needless to say I was relieved because I had gotten permission but had never met the Property Owner in person. He asked me about my detector then watched as I retrieved a Pull Tab from the Hole. I told him about a possible good target as well and found the Wheat off to the side a little ways. I then filled the Hole and flipped the plug back in place. He was impressed stating "Boy you are pretty good at this." Now I am at the age when anybody calls me a Boy, it is a Compliment.
He then told me he had just bought a Detector and would bring it next time for some instructions. Overall a good but different experience.
I found this 1953d Wheat and a 1940 Nickle. Nickle was just a little old to be a War Nickle. No silver here yet but it is coming.
