Another Ace 250 Question......

Has anyone found anything decent with the Ace250 when a signal only responed from one direction of the swing?
And isn't it about time to start a "Ace 250 Tips & Tricks" thread?

When running in strictly "coins" mode, I've found several coins in close proximity to trash targets that fell down into the screwcap or pull-tab range that would hit only when the coil was approaching from the coin side. The coin and trash has to be nearly touching for this to happen, but it's not unusual. I would recommend that anytime you can get a good solid hit from only one direction, and you can get it to repeat consistently, then dig it up and check it out. Sometimes you can just slow the coil sweep speed down to a snails pace and get a good separation between the trash and coin. It just depends on the distance between them.

i always check the one way signals.i have four older machines and one time i noticed on my gta 1000 that i recieved a lot of these.i decided to check one and it was a mercury dime.i rechecked the others and most were the same thing.i dont know why but they were all mercurys.i also checked the signals with my freedom 1cdc and the same thing.to this day i havent figured out why but i always check now.

I've noticed that already also. You can simulate it w/testing a dime a pulltab on the floor or ground. I spent quite a bit of time w/a Sovereign and 550 meter, where you have to wiggle over the target to get a good number ID lock, and have since found that this technique works on questionable targets w/most every detector. Sometimes a slight change of direction will get a lock ID. And if you have items notched out, as w/the coin mode, and are getting just a oneway coin ID....notch in what is notched out and you'll probably here what's next to that one way target. :)

Anyone that has a hint or tip, and would like to share it with others, please email it to me, and I'll add it to the Ace250 Hints & Tips page I'm creating for my new, non-commercial, website, TheTreasureLeague.com. You are welcome to submit anything else you would like to see on the site, as well. That way, everyone will have a central place for information.

The site hasn't been published yet, so you will only see a "Coming Soon" page, along with a form to enter any submissions. I'm hoping to get enough responses to get some pages up and running in the next week, or so. Please only submit original material that is not copyrighted.

Thanks,
OldeTymer

I'll investgate those single signals next time I'm at a older park. And I already added "TheTreasureLeague.com" to my "favorites".
