My hunting partner and I hit our favorite beach early this morning, low tide was 6:30 am, we got there just about 6am and I found 3 rings and quite a bit of change.. all deep water finds and most targets were deep. The star sapphire is a size 14 its huge diamonds test good :) I love my PI.. :)

edited to add picture what an jerk I am lol...

Aquasearches are in route to MrBill. I'll have 1 in a week to 10 days. It's soo on! Nice load dude and excellent trash-treasure ratio.

I only hunt deep water I leave the wet/dry sand to the excal users. I have no interest in wet/dry... I'm strictly water and deep water.. :)

I thought about an Excal but I already posted I don't hunt wet/dry sand so all I need is a PI, the deep water troughs I hunt have very little trash and if I was to discriminate out iron I could possibly miss a find that is masked by the iron. I know what big iron sounds like anyway :)

My next detector is going to be a BeachHunter, I just picked up permission to hunt a lake with a 1800's era hotel sitting right on the water :) And its never been waterhunted :)

I'm finding many targets that I think would have been masked by the Excals and CZ20s, not counting the earrings that have mysteriously become numerous. It's great to use when the targets are not numerous or iron is not heavy (such as after a storm). As you said you can get used to the iron sounds and tell when something else may be down there. This is a ring I found in the shallow water on Sunday, 14k and heavy. It was in the same hole with a large nail. I knew there was iron in there but it sounded different enough to investigate further. I may have walked right over this if I was using one of my other machines Sunday.

I agree 100% iron does mask some good stuff. This beach I am hunting was said to be all trash, well someone with a PI wouldn't want to hunt that would they? I have found little trash but then I hunt deep. If I was to hunt shallow or wet sand sure I would want a detector that discriminated but I don't I leave those area's for others :) I'm doing just fine without hunting those area's and I am a firm believer that old gold and gold in general is deep.
