Annual end of year clad for silver exchange !

Ed (Upstate NY)

Active member
Every January I head to the coin star machine to exchange my clad coins, nickels and pennies found during the previous year. I had a poor year digging clad with only $64.00 total but I was able to boost my totals by including the proceeds by selling two dug Albany, NY dog tax tokens (1898 & 1905) on eBay for $91.00. My total of $155.00 bought me a 5 ounce silver bar and three one ounce American Silver eagles. Sure looks nicer than a pile of crusty coins and two beat dog tags !

I'd say you're right Ed. They do look good.

Looks like you made a good swap. That silver looks better than any crusty old clad any day.

Another good thing about your trade is the silver will grow in value over the years, nice investments. Why didn't I think of this?
