Annoying Sensitivity Menu?

I'm wondering if anyone besides me is getting annoyed with the CTX Sensitivity menu.
Let's say it is in Manual mode. You press the Sensitivity button and it will allow you to adjust the Manual Level setting.
But if you press the Sensitivity button longer it gives you a menu of things: Sensitivity type, Auto level, and Manual level.
You can move the highlight over the Auto level, press Menu and it does nothing. So why is it listed there? You have to bail out of Manual mode to use it.

And THAT annoys you? You must not be married............

On my CTX, if you press and release the sensitivity pad you can select either auto or manual sensitivity. If you press and hold the pad, it shows which type of sensitivity that you have selected on the machine, either auto or manual. If in manual, you can then arrow down and adjust the level of sensitivity for manual use. If you are in in auto, you can arrow down and can adjust from -3 to +3 on the sensitivity level for auto.

In detect screen, press Sensitivity long and get its screen 1/3 which shows
Sens type Auto or Manual
Auto Level
Manual Level

If in Auto type the Manual Level option for this screen is for information only; pressing Menu on it gives a bleep and that's all.
What not go to that setting instead?
If in Manual type the same goes for Auto option - info only.
I am also thinking the Noise Cancellation button should have a Confirm/Abort option rather than just do the Auto setting determination each time.
Kind of painful if you hit it by mistake.
To tell the truth, I've never set it for Manual. Haven't played with it at all.

I figured that that was for information to let you know you are in the 'auto or manual' mode and then a method make the left right buittons 'hot' to allow raising or lowering via the left right arrows.

So your agitation comes from not being able to switch to a different mode, 'auto or manual' while in the 'left right' sensitivity levels setting mode. And as you say, you never use manual anyway! I assume your point is when accessing the actual settings level there should not be a menu bar there for 'manual or auto', just a settings level menu bar. I too sometimes noise cancel accidentally. Now, if Minelab were to get really in the 'tech' world it would all be voice controlled (with a wireless pin pointer giving off all the same tones as the head unit), but then in my case it would have to learn swear words.

The Pinpoint trigger will abort the NC process. You have the option of using Auto or Manual NC.

Thanks Randy for the tip I finally learned something today! My goal is to learn something every day, about time its 9 P.M. LOL

My pinpoint trigger is set for press on press off. Does it still work as an abort?
On the manual vs auto Sens - basically my point is that the first 1/3 page could be eliminated.
The Sensitivity page should show manual setting and auto setting with last set levels. You'd just jump from one to the other if you wished by highlighting what you prefer.

On the other comment about my using Auto - I use Auto for noise cancel. For sensitivity I will use both, depending on where I am at the time.

Ha, nothing compared to what I have to put up with 24/7 around Larry.
