Anniversary Gift from the Treasure Gods

Treasure Mike

New member
Friday was my one year anniversary since I started metal detecting. Friday night after work I searched a ball field in South Seattle. Got a 14 hit on my MXT and up pops this 14 K gold ring with two small diamonds one on each side of a light green stone. Maybe they are diamonds, I'm not sure. Saturday morning I go to another ball field a few miles down the road. I go behind the baseball backstop and i get a very solid 22 hit. Open up the hole and see a silver piece of metal and I think, another damn pull tab. Reach in and I pull out this very heavy silver ring. I think, oh this is kind of a nice silver ring. Then I see the letters PLAT 950 inside the ring. I had to sit down and think about what I had just found. I could not believe I had found a platinum ring. Wow was I excited. I could not wait to get home to show my wife. What an anniversary gift from the Treasure Gods! My wife said it was pay back for the class ring I returned to a high school student last week.

I was using the big foot coil when I found the rings. I really like this coil. It probably gets about 2/3 the depth of the stock coil. Every ring I have found has been at four inches in depth or less. This is not the type of coil for finding those deep silver coins, but for locating jewelry it's hard to beat.
