Angry surf pics from the Treasure Coast..................

[attachment 208209 surf1.jpg] Well, unfortunately for us detectorist, Hurricane Irene was a bust. Even though the Waves were pounding the beach, there wasn't enough significant erosion to find any of the elusive Reales scattered up and down the East Coast of Florida.

[attachment 208210 surf2.jpg] Even though we encountered another 2 dozen or so people waving all sorts of detectors, everyone we talked to came up empty. Either that or they were lying. I was running my Headhunter PI wide open with no disc. and would sometimes swing for 30 minutes without so much as a whisper. Either this was the cleanest beach on the coast or targets were better than a foot deep.

[attachment 208211 surf3.jpg] Here I am working my way back toward the thundering surf.

[attachment 208212 surf4.jpg] Just seconds before this shot was taken, I was standing high and dry on the beach. The surf was really pounding and I kind of think that the next low tide might cut the beach better than today. Unfortunately I will be behind the plate all day tomorrow and won't be able to see if my guess is right. It's about a 2 1/2 hour ride from Plant City to Sebastian Inlet, Wabasso etc. I did meet one guy that picked up a 1 reale without even the use of a detector. He had left it at home and came out just to walk the beach and take a look around. Really pretty coin.

All for now.
