Andy Love Your book

When ever I have a hard day with the Dues, like hunting in a very hard area with iron or trash. I take your book out and go through it again and again to see if I missed anything or I can find a reason my detector is having a hard time...Thanks, looking forward to maybe a new book?

For me when I am in the zone this machine is great..I made a video of the finds using the detector and I have about five vidoes I'm editing. Sometimes when in an area with bad dirt or trash or nails the machine is hard to understand but I think if I were using another machine I would go home and give up. Today I had two sites like that and it may have been all the rain we have had. But I go back and try it again and program the machine a little different and see if I can pull some relics out. I like a challange and when I'm tired it is really just too much so best to regroup and try again. Lets see what I find next time and maybe we won't get any rain and the ground will dry out a bit...

An overwhelming Deus can at times be caused by a not so good ground balance. I like to start in tracking and see where the Deus goes. Then maybe go manual and set it to where it was in tracking, maybe add a couple points. I think the tracking GB on deus is very underrated.
I know it works far better than the tracking ground balance on White's V3i. Funny thing is I've made what I consider my best finds with Deus when using tracking ground balance.

A lot of the input from other users is what helped make the book the reference guide that it is . . . . . as far as a new one, when the next version of the software is released, an updated book will be following shortly thereafter.

Blade Runner how can I help you???

Thanks for the offer Squirrel! I think I am just going to have to get some hours under my belt before I can start to get a handle on the tones. I am of course using Basic 1 since that is what most people suggest starting out with and not messing with any of the settings. I guess my main issue now is I'm not hearing a big difference between the high tones and mid-high tones.

I can't even imagine trying to fool with any of the setting rights now. lol There is so much there it's overwhelming.

If I have any specific questions, I'll post it in the forum.

Thanks again for the offer and sorry to the OP for highjacking this thread. :)

Blade runner. You need to adjust your tone frequencies. You can turn your dues on and make any changes you want to say "basic 1". Not to worry. When you turn your Deus off all Basic 1 settings will be reset to default. When you power your deus back up basic 1 will be back to original. It won't hurt a thing. Besides you need to practice on making settings changes. Get yourself a clad dime and nickel put on the ground. Two good targets to hear your differences in tone. Go and look at pages 54 and 55 of your manual. The menu trees are layed out nicely.

Thanks! One of my concerns was screwing up some of the factory settings. Andy's book came in the mail today so I should have enough reading to keep me busy for a while.

You can't screw-up the factory settings they can't be over written..but the book is big and full of a lot of info. I got back to it a lot and reread parts. The best thing to do is try different settings while you are hunting and see what program works the best then go and tweek it and try it again and then if it works save it to an empty slot..
