Android mapping software

I have been searching for a map program that I can place a stick pin where I find potential old homesteads to get permission to search.
By using Historic Map Works overlays I can find the site but must record the location in a notebook. Not any more.......
I came across a program called "Locus Free" that is a GPS map program that works on my tablet PC with android 4x.
I can zoom into an area, press my finger and label a location with information pertinent to the site.
It also gives GPS coordinates and some other info like a range of address numbers at the location.

There may be something better out there (please share), but I thought I would bring the groups attention to this tool.
It will work on Android phones also but I like the tablet for compiling my info.
Supposed to be able to be used offline so maps and data gathered can be used outside internet access. (haven't tried this yet)
Hope its helpful,
Ran

Thanks for the info! I also have a Droid and have downloaded GPS Essentials, seems pretty good as well.
