Andrew ...Help!

Leaverite

New member
Andrew,
What software (in your opinion) is best (easiest to use and accurate or just accurate!) to scan in an old map and overlay a current map or just scan in an old map and generate usable lat. and long. numbers?
Fugawi maybe?? What do you think? I just need a little direction....
(Pun intended)

Thanks,
Glenn

Sorry for the delay. I was away.

To scan and than overlay the scanned image on another map, GlobalMapper is hard to beat however it may be too expensive for a casual user and it has a relatively steep learning curve but... IMHO it's worth learning.
For easier to use and less expensive packages; My favorite raster map software are TTQV and OziExplorer.
Beware! At www.canadianmaps.ca I sell GlobalMapper and TTQV so, you may want to "play it safe" (just in case I'd be trying to make a sales pitch) and get OziExplorer (www.oziexplorer.com) which is in direct competition with what I sell.

HTH
Andrew
