Anderson shaft

I happen to be on face book with Pete Anderson and on here as well. He asked me to be on his EQ shaft test team. Yes me can you believe that lol.

I just got it in today. I was surprised how even lighter it was than the ML shaft. Very good CF... woven. You tall guys will like this .... lower shaft is 28" long and ive always like Andersons coil heads over MLs which i feel are to soft which can cause a few issues. Fits snug in the coil with 4 additional spacers that can be used. Has a couple of holes for the handle and 3 for the cuff all for adjustment.......which i needed with my short ole arms. Machine.... cuff and shafts went together simply with a snug fit. I had one awe ha moment. when putting the lower shaft in make sure you put the Anderson logo on top so the spring pins fit. Wrong way and you think ..... hummm someone drilled the hole wrong. When you put the lower shaft in..... you have a two sided spring clip.... but also a nylon screw on the bottom to secure it.... there is NO movement with this 2 piece shaft and it should be better for you water hunters. I personally like the cuff..... its much tighter with the upper shaft fitting into it and SS screws on the side instead of the top. Just no wobble.

Finally got me a waterproof jack done so ill be putting some pressure on it tomorrow out deeper. Dont ya just love new toys?

Grumpy....... looks like a cam lock twist type but it isnt. Most of the time those things lock up and i end up having to cut um off. Im a push the shaft in a put a nylon bolt in one kind of guy, but this one is just that easy. Double spring clip with holes...... get your length... snap it in then on that lock at the bottom tighten up the screw with your finger. Fast and simple. I like the extra 4" for beach hunting as well. Shes all rigged up ready to go along with my waterproof phones today.

Des...... got a 14K 10 gram rose gold today chest deep.... third for the monty. That shaft and the machine is a good combo to swing. You arent gong to have to force it to go where you want it..... she moves smoothly. Everything on the Andersons was tight and stiff.

I wasnt impressed with my headphones that work great on the Xcal and CTX. They have audio sear speakers but was kind of a colyipy of tones even thou i was in 5 tone they seemed to run together.... not nearly as separated as the bluetooth. Hey..... but im in the water where i want to be. I switched between beach 1 and beach 2. Different beach today this one had a mineralized hard pan so i hear a lot more minerals.... and yes that screen is jumpy. Maybe the water was clearer but you could see that screen pretty good. In beach 1..... it was chatty so i had to reduce sensitivity to 18.... in beach 2 it would run 21. So i tried something different ..... i reduced the iron tones to 4 and ran AM. That made a huge difference to me.... the iron kind of broke up the tones making it easier to tell a target. Didnt seem to get as much depth ... i noticed the auto GB was 11. wasnt many targets to play around with.

Noticed something else today as well...... the handle is situated better and the coil doesnt look crocked.

'Yeah, I had dealings with Anderson with the E Trac project and they are a good company to deal with: a tad expensive but then good quality always is!"

Ill ask Pete.... Mike. With the shaft, light weight box, and the coil that likes staying down this is better than any machine ive swung out there. Really moves nice.

Mike.. .. he said they should have these shafts to the dealers in a couple of weeks.

Dont think you will be disappointed. Plenty of holes for adjusting and unlike the ML shaft..... not lock to freeze in place. It also uses a double spring button over the single and a set screw to lock it in place. The button mechanize is easily removed and not metal. Clearly a better choice for salt water hunting i can tell you that not being aluminum. No need to buy a Whites tall mans lower shaft that many tall guys do either. Instead of a single bolt they are using an allen wrench locking device for the cuff. BUT there are holes to accommodate most cuffs if you have one you like....... as well as adjustment for the shaft, cuff, and handle. Really thought out as a water hunting shaft.
