There is a private beach on a lake I've not detected and that I don't have permission to cross the property, so a long hike is needed down the shoreline, which is made possible by the winter drawdown of the lakes. So I arrived on location to find three other MD'ers on the beach. From the crater scene, they had been at it for some time, so wearing my knee highs out into the water I went to not disturb them and avoid interference. One was using an XLT, another an Exploder, and the last a Tesoro( maybe Saber or Bandito).

In planning this hunt I had decided to shallow wade with the Excel at Sens = 8 & Disc = -8 while only digging 00 to +20. I was going for the gold, so tabs & nickels were the order of the day, since I was not expecting any old coins.

The only gold found was the 14k religious medal, it was found within a foot of one of the holes the others had dug after they left. I also found many nickels and tabs they missed.

So the count was 18 tabs and 32 Jeffs, with two 1939 Jeffs that were deep. I was once again wrong about old coins being at a site, sounds like the CZ20 needs to take a trip here.

The gold chain is only GP, bummer, a little faux nitro moment there.
