Ancient Chinese coin

Today I began detecting again after rehabilitation on my knee and a move from Southern California to the Pacific Northwest.

I found $1.00 of clad and this ancient (according to my research) Chinese coin.

It could be a fake but is still nice to add to my collection of foreign coin finds.

I found a similar one on a small river island this summer, turned out to be a few years shy of 200 years old, id'd it here: http://www.calgarycoin.com/reference/china/china8.htm#yung%20cheng

I have several in my collection inherited from grandfather. I believe dad picked it up during his stint with the merchant marines. Not worth much.

I found one several years ago in a high school baseball field....
I had several as a kid,, they came in a box of Post Toasties or something...
So I never thought they were worth much....

Glad your knee is doing better,, had my Left knee replace about 12 years ago.

I have found some of those in CW camps. I have been told they were carried for luck. You will be surprised how old they are. Nice find!

Yup, I have found some up here also. Not much value to them but always great fun to find. Mine have been from the 17-1800's, so quite old.
