Analyze

I went out today after 2 days of heavy rain and snow. Everything worked fine except the analyze screen. I could not get it to show the normal waves with a coin in the ground. I air tested the same quarter that I had just pulled out of the ground and it read it perfect, but it would not read any coins in the ground. The sound was good. I used it before the rain and snow and it worked ok. anyone else have this problem in saturated ground? The active search was fine

Hi Shwebb,

I don't know if I can help you, but let's give it a try.

With my high mineral soil, the iron oxide/hydroxide + ferromagnesium silicate complex is such that under saturated conditions, resistance to detection depth and satisfactory target ID/disc performance....is dramatically increased. Typical of some soils I'm familiar with by certified soil test reports from locals in northern Alabama. Salt environs are not the only soil chemistry that will play havoc with detector performance when wet.

Perhaps your ground demonstrates similar response to mine when saturated. Suggest performance will improve again once the soil dries somewhat. Hope all works out well, good luck and HH,

Jim Hemmingway.
