analyze screen

on-edge

New member
wondering, on the graph are those true to target samplings
that will vary depending on the differances in the target
or are they predetermined spots that will only change color
according to the target and strongest frequency

I have been wondering that myself.

But you mean on the search screen dont you, not the analyze screen with the sizing graphs.

If its like the DFX signagraph or the MXT type confidence bar...

My guess is that any of the fieldtesters can answer this.

On the Analysis screen it is true target sampling. In my use this screen can help in identifying a nail as it will show the double hump if the nail is swept in the correct direction.

bfodnes,on the analyze screen,i'm just not sure what the lines on the graph do
i know that the colors represent the different frequencies and that the height of the arcs probably
determines the better signal
what i'm asking is if the lines are stationary and only change color and pretty much for visual effect other than
to show which frequency is best
or do the lines on the graph actually work and fluctuate with the differances in targets and possibly give more
than a visual effect? just a curiosity

thats good news,i was being a little gun shy,but that is what i was hoping for, thanks for the info!
would this graph be of help in any other way?

The analyze screen changes dramatically depending on the target. It will be a great asset in helping not only what the target might be, but next to the VDI is an accuracy/confidence level % number. On page three of the Field guide shows a waveform of a good target and on that screen also shows what the strongest frequency is on that signal. In this case 22.5 KHz, then 7.5 and then 2.5 indicating the target is most likely a nickel or jewelry. It is used to back up the VDI of 19. Accuracy is 54% and the target icon is a nickel first and then a ring. The target size is also indicated between the two vertical bars also indicates it is the size of a nickel. with all of that info, you should be pretty sure you have a nickel, which is pretty obvious.

Now where all of this info really comes in handy is for the other VDI's that could be trash or a ring. A ring will usually give you the same type of waveform as a nickel. A pull tab is usually a lot flatter or even flat. Iron will have the opposite waveform dipping down and I have found that a coin or ring on edge will often have the upward waveform but a small negative dip before and/or after the nice rise in the waveform. As the target gets deeper the Analyze data becomes less accurate as expected.

In a nutshell, those are true target samplings.

Ahhh..

So it is not allways smooth and rounded...

Then it gives more information then even i believed....

On-edge.

I see you was talking about the analyze screen after all.

I was thinking about the search screen with the 3 vertical bars below eachother.

I was wondering if they are allways a single bar on each line as MXT or as the DFX with numerous shorter and taller bars all about.

Yes, a full live Signagraph of all three frequencies operating at the same time if you are using Best Data/Correlate. One Signagraph for single frequency.

bfodnes,i figured as much i think the mxt uses a notch set up and the dfx is like xlt with the spikes on scale set up
imagine if the analize screen on the vision was the main search screen,it would be like reading a heart rate monitor
while detecting ha ha ha
thanks for all the info everyone!

Larry, I have always been more of an audio guy than visual when it comes to detectors.... this changes everything!!!

Tom

Your audio will still be your best tool for deep target hunting Tom. All of these other things are just tools to aid you and the deeper the target, the less reliable are the tools. As a last resort for iffy targets, trust that discriminator between you ears.

Thanks Larry...

Talk about visual information......

First 3 signagraphs on the search screen indicating lots of info, then trigger foreward to analyze....

I am starting to believe i dont need headphones at all......just kidding.

But then again,,,, this detector must be a deaf mans dream.....think about it...

We are just getting warmed up here: Example.....

The analyze screen like other screens can be changed to provide you with different information. I have not tried this, but I'm fairly certain you can have a second set of signagraphs set up to different parameters, such as Normalization ON-OFF. ON, on the search screen, Off on the Analyze screen. The amount of personal editing is just unbelievable in the Expert menu. You could blow a brain gasket if your not careful.....:stars:........:stretcher:

I don't want to scare anyone with the Expert menu, the average user might never have a need to go there, is just there for those who can't leave well enough alone........

Wow, great info Larry and Bob! I'm sure we are going to see people drawing little mini sketches of what their displays looked like when they found deep silver and gold next to iron and other trash :)

this machine is sounding more and more awsome by the minute
i'm thinking that the graph maybe a very good aid in setting up this
machine the way that you want it to a specific site(deep silver)!
can you save programs on the machine itself like in the past?
now i'm wandering if the graph is its own entity or does it relate to any
adjustments you may make?
