Analyze Mode

The analyze screen needs to have a period of time of no targets before and after seeing a target. So wait, thousand one, thousand two before sweeping the target and before re-sweeping the target. Also, if possible, try stopping just as soon as you've left the target
Pinpoint the target before analyzing. Off center sweeps can cause anomalous patterns.
Settings that are too hot can cause anomalous patterns or no patterns. Having your search settings too hot may cause the analysis graph to trigger on ground. If there is enough noise to be triggering it within that required quiet time, then it cannot trigger to display the signal, or it triggers later and shows the wrong data. . If your noise source has signals that are as large as your deep targets, you will not be able to see a good reading either.
"Match Search" is the default setting. If match search is selected, everything that is selected for the SEARCH mode is applied to the ANALYZE mode. Un-checking the match search and changing the options different from your search settings can help. Rob

Great topic Rob.....

When you have the time can you and members contribute some ideas for the Analyze screen other than "match" the search settings?

If you decide to not use match search, you can run a different recovery delay, SAT, and ground filter for the analyze screen from the settings you are using while searching. I've noticed some people don't use the same sweep speed for searching and analysis. So they could switch the filters to match there different swings. I really don't use the analyze screen much. The size, sound, the dominate frequency and depth I get from the search screen and pinpoint. Those who find it useful can give their setup. Rob

I have a slow sweep speed, so I like to keep my filters low, if possible, to maximize the effectiveness of the ALL METAL channel. When I find a good target, however, I like to speed up my sweep speed to get a more solid VDI. This is especially effective on deep targets. I keep the all three Analyze options set to their default settings. These seem to work well with a brisk, short sweep when a target is found.

I also do not use analyze very much unless it is a questionable target. In that scenario it helps me decide whether or not to dig. Needless to say, the deeper the target, the less I will rely on the data, and the more likely I will dig.

When I switch to Analize I have to give it just a second to "re-set" to Analize. While most of the time it will lock on to that first analize screen, sometimes it will update with further swings, sometimes on each swing if I swing slowly... but other times it hangs up on that first Analize screen and the only way to get another analize look is to toggle the trigger.

I have been using match but I need to tak another look at that.

I would REALLY LOVE to see White's enable the switch to have the option to toggle to pinpoint and analize OR to two other search programs. What if you could hunt with the switch in the middle in 3 frequency, pull the toggle and switch to 2.5 non-normalized or push it forward and search in 22.5 non-normalized.. (or whatever search program you might want to use to compare to your main program). Of course i'd want to also have the current options. Maybe there would be a way to program it that if you hold the menu button for 3 seconds it would acces the other search programs when you toggle... I don't know, maybe it can't be done but if it can be done, it would add a LOT of info really quickly if you're in bottlecaps or pulltabs. Don't get me wrong, i'm not complaining, the V3 already gives more information than most detectors.

Thanks for the good info. I guess unchecking "match search" is a good place to start, to get more info from analize and pinpoint. Something new to try... :detecting: !!
