An Open Post to First Texas...

I received an e-mail from a long time Fisher user today that pretty much says it all:

"its terrible that First Texas isnt addressing all these questions about the new fishers or even aquiring fisher isnt it? I think they should come on the forums and just make a few statements that they are now the owners of Fisher and what there plans are and so forth. Sure makes me hesitant about buying a new Fisher."

First Texas/Fisher: I and I'm sure many thousands of primary Fisher users would sincerely appreciate an open line of communication to keep us informed of what's really going on...it would just add to our loyalty as Fisher users and trust of this new First Texas/Fisher venture. Excellent machines, customer service, and communication could make this company the one to beat-Minelab appears to be understanding these basic business principles very well. I'm sure many out there can add much more...

First texas did put out a statement when they aquired Fisher
Press release
As far as bring anyone up to speed about there new product and whats going on. No companies do that. In fact it adds to the mystique and hype for it's actual release. If you want to know what hype like that does just look at the Garett Ace series. There still riding the wave.

Trying to make certain both the F4 and F75 are right, rather than rushing out something fast with software bugs and such. How many "new" units have come out with problems, or had to be recalled?
I know it can be frustrating waiting, and seeing full page ads in the Treasure magazines & dealer banners. But, First Texas knows they need to make a splash to bring Fisher back to life (& be doubly sure it's a flawless splash). Can you imagine the backlash if the first 2 new Fisher's came out with flaws and had to be shipped back?
I spoke with Dave Johnson, & it sounds to me like the extra engineering time will have been well worth it in the end for both new Fishers.....

Bill

Any word yet on how the F75 will handle wet salt beaches as compared to the CZ7A.

I really think the troops would rally behind First Texas if they simply treat Fisher users very well(with new and old model machines) with excellent customer service, provided reasonable parts and repair costs(not doing things for free if no warranty but fair pricing for shipping and putting a new part in the mail-how hard/expensive is that?) and factual regular updates regarding new machine introductions, product line plans, and procedures/policies in black and white...maybe even provide some constructive feedback ablility...many of you guys out there are brilliant and could help further improve future models...JMHO

Jeffs words expressed in this thread are wise ones.

I will be buying either the F75 or the T2 Iam patiently waiting with others to get it right first time.

Many are assuming/hoping that the F75 is going to be a T2 plus and it will be nice for many of us if it proves to be the case as we all wnt the best.

If it turns out that that is not the case then the T2 will reign for the time being.

Well its nearly February and like many of you out there the suspense is killing me.:twodetecting:Jerry.

[size=medium]Who took down those posts? I was in the process of answering them- and poof its gone???

Well the -Aussie Possie- sure rallied up the troops to defend their honor as there was over 150 looks @ my post in less than 24 hours. Posts from people who have never been in a Fish forum in their life--

I think it was a smart move as the topic was getting away from "Fisher Metal Detectors". If it continued we would have had a long back and forth brand war post that was due to become ugly. Lets just move on mate.

Arizona,

Why sure Im going to defend my Minelabs. You talked about how bad Minelab service was and I have had several completely opposite experiences. Their warranty department has been SUPERB. Des Dunne and many others have answered many of my questions and concerns. I have a right to disagree with you don't I?

BTW..... I am NOT brand loyal. I have had (2)Garrets, (3)Whites, and (2)Minelabs. I will buy and use any detector I feel is the best for my situation. I read all brand detector forums to keep up on all the new info. I read the Fisher post often because I am VERY interested in the F75. I really like what I hear about the T2. If the F75 is an decent improvement I will own it also. If I buy one, do I have your permission to read and post in here?

I hope you not relaying all your sarcasm in your posts because they come off very ................

HH, Stoops

And here's to their hard work paying off.

I personally feel that ONE WAY to "bring Fisher back to life" would be to resurrect the venerable CZ-70, maybe even offer a CZ-75??? I think there might be room for TWO killer machines in the lineup, eh?

Killing the CZ-70 was a BAD move. Bringing it back would be a GOOD one.

My fingers are crossed that the long-awaited offerings will be the next "CZ's" in terms of their performance. If so, there may be room for one alongside my Explorer SE, CZ-70, and Excalibur. :)

Great post! They either are utilizing false economy practices or are just apathetic to previous customers and uncaring about continued business.

I think the business is up for grabs. White's has been staying in the shadows as of late and they could really come out with something that might just be the new kid on town. They have done it before. As for Fisher, when the F75 does come out and lives up to what it is going to do no one will be even dealing with why so long and all of the time it took. If it doesn't pan out for the F75 then the T2 will start selling even more detectors. I think the T2 will have a brother at some point and I hope it is a coin machine that is designed for coins and not so much for relics.

It is kind of sad and funny how these big companies don't have a clue to what is going on in our hobby. I think once you find a machine that lives up to what you want then new machines really don't mean much unless they are so different and so hi tech that nothing can match it.

Troy has not had a new machine for a few years now and on their forum no one really cares about a new machine they all seem so happy with what they have because it does what they need it to do and they get results with their finds. And same goes for Nautilus. No one seems to be asking when the newest machine is coming out.

So lets just wait and see and use what we have and enjoy the hobby while we can. It will be interesting as time goes on because all the big companies are all due to bring something out. I am happy I got the T2 because it has turned out to be a very cool machine. Easy to use maybe too easy. Deep and loves to unmask targets in iron. Not many detectors can match it at relic hunting. And I learn more each time I use it to use my ears more then my eyes.
