Headed out today with Whadda to see if we could find the original Showgrounds Pavillion in our home town after some research from some of our friends. We think we are fairly sure of its position, as we found a heap of old lead headed nails and a large quantity of trash from when they pulled it down. It was very hard going as there is a very large quantity of rusty wire and nails, so it was dificult to get a proper hit on any worthwhile targets. We did have a tiny bit of good luck though as I managed to somehow find this beautiful silver shilling coin dated 1943. It was the only coin we found on this older site, so for a bit of a moral boost, we hit the new oval for our last 15miutes before dark and got a few decimal coins (me=3 x $1.00, Whadda=3 x $2.00 & 2 x $1.00) so it was a good afternoon. Now we cant wait to get back there and see what else we can find. Will keep you posted on any other finds. Happy hunting all!!!!
