An old watch tower, maybe?...

I was on a business trip this week near Frankfurt. A work colleague told me about an old small ruin on top of the hill close to where we were working and volunteered to go with me to check out the site. I knew about the site and tried doing some research on it but found nothing, the legend is it was a watch tower, but a nice one, looks like it had 3 towers, a few small buildings between the towers and a small court yard, probably just enough room for a carriage and a few horses. After work, I drove as far as I could then we hiked to the site, up hill for over an hour, probably would have been less but we found a short cut! It was a hot day so we wore shorts, big mistake, the area at the top was very overgrown and the forest has reclaimed much of the area, we ended up on a smallish path leading to the ruin, I was carrying my detector as well..
