With my software I can tell the temp of every pixel to 1/10th of a degree!! 52,000 bucks!

I use this camera to inspect electrical connections, bearings, steam traps, motors etc. Click on the link to see what it is. I use a FLIR camera.
The camera I use is pretty sensitive. It will read, to a 1/10th of a degree accuracy, a one foot square at 200 feet! Close up, like my face picture, I can read every pixel to that degree. It is amazing.
They use this stuff on the copters and satilites, watching for talaban. It ain't gonna miss them if they are above ground. I can track a persons foot prints on a carpet for minutes after he has left the room.
It is amazing stuff. I have seen a persons back, right after a strain and seen the heat from the blood rushing in. I took a picture of a persons face and could see he had a head cold. One side of his nose was 2/10ths of a degree warmer. That is the side the warm are was going out. I can do this real time.
IT is the best job in GM!! <IMG SRC="/forums/images/biggrin.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":D">
I have had a bunch of training for it. I started the program and sat it up here at the Truck Plant. It is the only reason I ever got into computers. I had never owned one or even turned one on until I was given this job.
They sent me to Boston twice, Montpilier Vermont twice, San Francisco once, Pheonix twice, Huston, Atlanta, etc for schools. It is a fun job.
It is fun finding new uses for the technology.
From 7 years ago when I started with just me, now we have 4 others doing the job <IMG SRC="/forums/images/biggrin.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":D"> We save millions of dollars a year with it and could do more if my bosses weren't morons but that goes with the territory <IMG SRC="/forums/images/biggrin.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":D">

Always thought there was something wrong with you---it just took a $52,000 camera to prove it---Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. So that's the camera you were telling me about. Neat.
Jerry

schools cause it's hard to pound info into a hard head---yeah, I got to admit you got the softest job in GM history. No reason to retire with that setup goin' for you. Lucky dog!
