An introduction and three exciting hunts this week...

Bavaria Mike

Hello X-Terra users. I just bought a X-Terra 70, should be here any day now. I'm American and live in Bavaria Germany, have been detecting for 17 years. Looking forward to sharing finds and info on the forum. Here's three hunts I did this week with my White's XLT, also have a Fisher CZ7A and a Garrett MH5.

Another week on a business trip, got out detecting three times. First hunt was on a nice flat field I had permission on from a local farmer, detected about 1.5 hours from dusk to dark. Didn

Welcome Mike. Glad to have you aboard.

Nice pictures, and good narratives. Felt like I was there with you. I'm sure you will find a good spot that will produce the older items. It's only a matter of time, and you have potential sites that pre-date ours over here by hundreds of years. Not knowing the history, I can only guess that the Roman Empire must have spread through that part of Europe as well. A few Roman gold, or silver, coins would probably be quite a thrill.

I, too, have a new X-Terra 70, but have only been able to put about 4 hours on it so far. It seems like a nice well balanced unit. I'm anxious to get out with it again, once the weather cooperates, and my honey-do list is complete. Do they ever get completed?

Definitely keep us posted on your progress with the X-Terra. Was the Holiday Special package offered with it there? It was nice to receive the 5x10 DD coil, carry bag and pouch with the purchase.

Good hunting,
OldeTymer

Welcome Mike, and I too agree with OldeTymer that your photos and narrative of your hunts were excellent.

I've had my X-70 now for 5 months and have enjoyed the learning process that goes with every new unit. Only have about 40 hours on it; too many other distractions this year:angry: But the more I use it the more I like it.

Keep us posted on your progress, and never be shy about asking questions; there are some very intelligent folks here who are more than willing to help out.

the X-Terra 70, I am sure, especially once they get a smaller coil out for it. That's what it will take for me to work an X-T 70 in some of my favorite places because I just do not like using big coils (anything over 7"), and I feel that a decent coil for the X-Terra 50 & 70 will make these two models really show their potential.

Keep us all informed of your thoughts and successes.

Monte

I hope they come out with a nice 12" or 15" DD coil for the XT 70 as I usually detect for relics on farm fields and do some forests occasionally. I bought the machine used with 3 coils, two are DD coils and the stock coil. HH, Mike
