An interesting site gone bad, turned good...

I have had the flu for the past few days so I was laying low, in bed mostly, LOL, and did some research. Found an unusual area on a horse farm that I have permission to hunt but, have never detected there. It is close to a church where I have detected and found well over $120.00 on three outings. I called my detecting friend and asked if he was interested and he sure was after explaining what I found. Check this aerial picture out, looks exciting as it looks like some foundations of an old farm or a castle. I was suspicious though, as it is not documented!

We met after lunch today and drove to the site just 20 minutes away from the house. Detected our way to the site and crap! What I suspected, an old small rock quarry, the nice white lines are where people have been riding dirt bikes (motorcycles). I found a 50. caliber round and my buddy found a nice military pendant probably from the late 1800s in good condition. I suggested we go to the church and hunt for Euros (clad). We detected a lane/road that leads to the church and not the church grounds, this is where kids block the way of a newly married couple with a rope, each car driving by must through coins out the window to the children in order to pass by, it is a German tradition. We both found around $15.00. I found 12.80 Euros, an American Quarter 1966 sob, a 200 Italian Lire coin and a 1 Austrian Shilling coin. My friend found 12.44 Euros and an American Penny. We had a lot of fun even though we both prefer relic hunting, always nice to find some battery money! I was using my XT70 and my friend was using his White's Prizm IV. HH, Mike
