An old couple had been mssionaries in Africa many years and were returning to New York City to retire. On the ship was also Teddy Roosevelt. When the ship arrived a band and a grand reception for Roosevelt was held but the couple slipped off the ship unnoticed.

Later that night at the cheap flat they rented the man's spirit broke and he said to his wife "I can't take this, God is not treating us fairly, look what the president got". His wife suggested that he go back into the bedroom and tell the Lord. A short time later he came out of the bedroom with a face completely changed - his wife asked what happened.

"The Lord settled it with me" he said. I told Him how bitter I was that the president had gotten such a great homecoming and we got nothing. When I had finished it seemed like the Lord put His hand on my shoulder and said "But you are not home yet ".

often cannot understand why worldly people seem to be rewarded so much and some Christians (or most) seem to get nothing or just crumbs! Well, like God told the old man, we aren't home yet! That's when those who serve Him faithfully will receive glorious rewards and the sinners, who seem to get everything now, will be judged for what they didn't do for Jesus! (Like the richman and the beggar) The richman was in hell tormented and the beggar was resting in Abraham's bosom!

Thanks again!

God Bless!
