I have hunted this small field off and on for 3 summers and the finds are still coming.
I have found everything from Half Reales to Grape shots here. Today was no exception.

GB changed some from area to area. started out at 19 and quickly went to 49 and finally settled in at 39.
I was able to keep the Sen. at 28. Tried 30 but broke up on me.
The copper ornate buckle came in at 30-32 and about 6" deep.
The spoon was 12-18 but hovered at the nickel zone and about the same depth.
Both Buttons came in at 30 and clear tone.
The Wheat penny came in at 30-34 and 8" deep.
The Indian cent was a mind bender. Started at 12-14 and faint tone. Iron beside it about 8-10" away. Could not get a good X to dig to so pinpointed and lost the signal. I could pick up the iron but not the penny. Finally got enough of a cross to dig to. and as soon as I pulled the 4 to 5" plug the tone changed and was loud and clear. At this point I knew by the tone and #s that it was a good dig. At about 8" I got the lock and tone I wanted. and popped the 1883 Indian head penny.
This is the reason I run in All Metal or as close as possible to it. If I were using very much Discrimination it would have nulled out the Indian Head penny and there goes the find for the day. Work your coil moderately fast but listen for those little Blips and go back and check them. A lot of the time you can swing right over a target and not pick it up at all. But if you concentrate on hunting and listen for those tell tail signals, you can catch them and in some cases find a nice prize waiting for you.
One note please. If you were school or park hunting for clad none of this would make any sense to you.
