An eyeball find and a gift that knocked out my eyeballs

Pete in MI

Picked up a dime at our 'other' mailbox when we stopped to get the mail. Opened the door of the van and there it was waiting for me to pick it up.
Hey a dime is a dime

Then at work I had been talking to a kindly old gentleman who was doing the 'paper mill shuffle' and we talked for quite awhile and I helped him. He was from Detroit and came to get 'paperwork' done. While he awaited one of the state employees to come talk with him he over heard me telling another employee that tomorrow (the 29th) is my birthday.

He came over to me and said 'I couldn't help hearing that tomorrow is your birthday" and he was reaching in his pocket. I figured whatever he was going to give me I would have to say 'Sorry I cannot accelpt that'.
When he produced a like mint condition bill from his pocket I could not belive my eyes. Something I hadn't seen in a long long time and he was giving it to me. I couldn't find the words to say I can't accept it. Accept it I did. Here is what he gave me ======>>>>>

Had no place to put it to keep it as pretty as it was when it came out of his pocket. May God bless him for his gift.

Happy Birthday early brother! :)

kinda felt strange all day yesterday. Sherry and I went to a grocery store and found they had ground chuck for 47 cents a pound. Sherry bought as much as she could afford. On the way out to the car she said :I wished I had more money to get more. I got all I could with the money I saved for your birthday present." Man, that hurts - in more than one way.

Oh well a $2 is a great birthday present and so is hamburger (I guess LOL)
