An article on gold sampling stream banks for those interested

another fascinating article Bill. Your a very articulate journalist. I love your stories. You should be writing and selling books.

how will I know if it isn't gold color that I have the real thing? Southern Ohio has an area where you are allowed to pan for gold and it's flour but you're not allowed to MD there. I live in Northwest Ohio and would like to give it a try, panning, just to see. Are far as I can tell we don't have any black sand, magnetite. Our rock layers are limestone so that kind of eliminates gold but the there are "Fool's Gold" mixed in and what I have read is that real and "Fool's Gold" can be found in the same area. Any information would be helpful.

there is gold in southeastern Ohio but I'm about 150 miles from there. Silver has been found in western West Virginia.

Click on state, than mineral. Click on county and it will show you the coordinates. Take the coordinates to Goole Earth.

Check with your State Geology Department. They will have all kinds of info ( books, maps, etc. ) and locations of any gold bearing areas in your state.

Thanks. I was always going to but never got the lead out, but I still can I guess. Couple of my buddies ( fellow writers ) have written a few and sold a bunch.
