I went to an elementary school that has been around since the early 1900's. No old coins. The play ground was pretty sparse except for some recently dropped coins. It must get detected regularly. So I decided to hit the two baseball fields before I left. I started pulling quarters out of the ground. More often than not they were in pairs. I got 26 quarters, 19 dimes, 3 nickels, 21 pennies, an alien pendant, and a silver ring. First time I ever dug more quarters than pennies!

Yea, most people cherry pick the playground. Don't tell anyone but us "pros" hit the lawn area and clean up. If you have a pin pointer, you can do it without damage to the lawn, just a small hole. SHHH.........:ninja:

[quote Uncle Willy]Ball fields are good and often overlooked by the cherry pickers.

Also the 20-30' radius around the woodchip playgrounds. I usually do better there than in the chips themselves.
