An 18" Find

I can honestly say I have never dug a target the size of the Aluminium cap on the top row at 18" before. I was ready to give up and started to dig into the hard pack and out it popped!!! E-trac and 15" SEF combo. Also my first full William I Scottish hammered in 22 years, this came of a highly mineralised site.

Now that's deep! and probably worth $ or L's!

Which 15" SEF do you use to get that kind of depth, the 15"x12" or the 18"x15" SEF? I wonder if the 18"x15" SEF has less sensitivity to coin sized?

Did you try the CoilTek 15" WOT DD on the E-Trac and compare it to the SEF?

Thanks.

I have NO cofidence in Coiltec coils. Detech work best on my sites soil. Coiltec coils are the only coils I have ever used that sound off on HOT ROCKS.

I Use the 15x12.

I only use the Stock coil and this find came from 14" and its been buried for a very long time.Jerry.

ps The decimal penny is 3/4" in diameter.

OK, OK. Do you mean the SEF coils do not sound off on HOT ROCKS ? Detech also makes a non-SEF round coils called EXcelerator at Kellyco. 12.5", 14", 16.5", and 18" and the biggest available for the E-Trac is the 16.5" round. I wonder if this one sounds off on HOT ROCKS just the same as the round CoilTek 15" WOT DD??

(I have heard the CoilTek WOT is a very good coil. Maybe it is different on the gold machines but there are glowing results many good reports of their coils used on Minelab gold machines (SD, GP, and GPX). The round CoilTek 14" DD coil I had for my SD 2200 was fantastic and they are brilliant coils and and good at separating HOT ROCKS(some sound off) in the goldfield when I used it in Western Australia.)

Some deep digging there Jerry and Toddy,I've got an 15X12 sef coming for my Explorer II,it should pull me a few extra finds from my sites.

Tell coiltek to send me one and i'll video it soinding off on hot rock in my Scottish soil, especially the platypus coil. Also the Sunray coils do it. No Detech coil I have used does this?? Don't ask me why maybe the coiltek & Sunray coils alter the Ground Balance to try and squeeze more depth from them!
