First I want to say that I know nothing about electronics. The amplifiers for headphones that you can get over the Internet places like AMAZON AND SO FORTH, ARE THEY AS GOOD AS THE ones sold on the metal detecting shops? I'm not getting cheap But if its the same product or better I'm all for it. I'm not impressed with fancy logo's or bell and whistles that serve no purpose regards
 
If you do get one make darn sure it's got a loud signal block on it. You don't want one that will also amplifer going over something large or shallow like a can.
