amplifier between detector and headset

New member
Has any one added a mini amp between their detector and headset?
I wondered if there would be much advantage to playing around with the sound once it has left the detector, mainly for those very small targets and faint sounds. Seems to me that the sound as it is leaving the detector is pretty raw and could do with some tweaking!

I have, I even build them. It is nice to have an amp, I think that it really adds to the sounds and make's the faintest ones even better and more clearer.

As I thought, Love to know what controls you offer or think best to have, do you sell your amps to the public? if so how much and do you send over-seas?
Cheers.

This is the one I use on some machines (Richard Dodds Signal Booster of twenty years back) to increase or decrease volume if no or limited adjustment on the detector, boost depth, change signal tone if the detector has an unpleasent audio output and "window" out large targets that can damage your hearing.

Bit on the large size as it uses a PP3 battery but comes with a bracket to clip it on the detectors shaft.
