I've been watching as the T-75 thing has been unfolding. I never cease to amaze me! I made a mental list of who all the "Nay" sayers were going to be. I can't believe how close I was. Oh but there a few more of you that have not come out yet. For crying out loud!!!! You guys have not even seen the thing yet! You haven't touched it! You have only seen a picture of it. Yet, many of you have already written it off, or have already cast a negative OPINION of it. What's your BASIC problem? Most of you guys are the ones that I NEVER see a post from, unless it's on the classifieds, selling the detector you bought 3 days before, tested in your basement and wrote that one off too! Do you ever HUNT? HOLY COW! Somebody post a mercury dime or something. I have never seen so many self proclaimed experts in my life! I'm the first one to tell you I don't have a clue how my detector works. I don't know how my car works either, I just drive it! Same with my machine. I don't know how it works, but I know it works! That's because I actually take it out and hunt with it now and then. Hey all you rocket scientists do us a favor.....just this once reserve judgment until maybe you get your hands on one. If you think it's a piece of junk then DON'T BUY ONE. Your opinion (just like mine) is not going to make or break the F75. I for one would like to say THANK YOU to First Texas for the new offering. I hope I get to try one some day. Respond if you want.....I'm OUT!

well stated I must add - like you, I'd rather go hunting with my C$ than try to figure all the other crap out!!! Will be very interesting to see how the F-75 does in the field and I too hope to try one out. PS: enjoyed your article in W&E!!! Hawkeye Jim.

Good post Tony, I never pass judgement on a detector until the field results come in and the machine is tested in all manner of different soils and conditions. The new Fisher may prove to be hot and then all the naysayers will have to have one.

First off...I was one of the first users of the T-2 so I have room to be bummed...I am not nor have I ever been a couch detectorist.
With that being said most current and past T-2 users probably have no doubts the new Fisher will be a huge improvement on the T-2.
The issue for alot of people is this.
We used T-2's...patiently waiting for a corrected version....whioh never came....and never came with alot of excuses on why it could not be fixed...like optional coils and electrical interference. How many Fisher users here have even used a T-2...if you have not...then you have no idea why we are upset. It sucks anywhere near electrical signals...and forget in town.
Yet...when it is quiet..it is as deep as any machine....AS ANY MACHINE AND YES THAT INCLUES THE EXPLORER.
So...here we wait..patiently...but no fixes...just excuses..or nothing at all.
THEN.....all of a sudden...the gates of heaven open up and low and behold the magic elixir was found.....they dressed in Fisher clothing and viola....that led to the magical cure for EMI and coils.
Well a bit more than that but now we find out the Fisher will use DD and Concetric coils....and will supposedly be stable near EMI.
All which may be true and I hope it is....but you miss the point.........why....because you did not sit on a T-2 for 10 months waiting for a fix only to have it released under a new name.
Now we have to go buy a new detector at 150 bucks more to get what should have been there to begin with.
Plus...what fool is now going to buy any new Tek detector....? What would be the reason.....just to see the updated version released under a Fisher logo. While that may never happen again I understand, you have to see it from the point of people who feel screwed with the T-2.
Since when have you ever seen a detector come out under one brand name only to see it's better version directly copied unbder another brand name. Do you see the point or are you so blind to Fisher loyalty that you can't see the truth.
Again I like Fisher,......I hope the F-75 rocks...and yes I will buy one.....unfortunately...and only because they will not ever fix the T-2.
Why won't they fix the T-2...because the profit in detectors is small...and no one is going to release a T-2 that competes with the F-75 from the same parent organization. they won't do it....ever..we all know that.
So if you did not own a T-2 and quietly wait for a fix then yuou would not GET IT. The only people who get it are those who already spent 800 bucks.
The whole thing was done in an odd manner and just smells fishy.......well no pun intended there.

that buy first releases no matter what the product need to face the fact that something better or cheaper always comes out later. That is just the way it works and its especially true of electronic products. From a companies stand point they need to get product out there and get some return on their investment. That also is "just the way it works".

It is a pity that the T2 does not work at all sites for all people. A little research before buying is always a good thing.

And not asking for to much I might add . Who's going to buy a T2 when you can get everything you wanted( Or asked for ) in a 75 . We might take a hard hit on the T2 when we try and sell it.

and you are right I never owned a T2. I have bought and used enough new machines to learn that I am NOT going to be the guinea pig anymore. Tough lesson isn't it?

I'll get by this fall with what I have and take a hard look at the F-75 in the spring.

You're truly one of the SMART consumers Tom.
I have also learned the hard way about being the first one on the block with the newest toy available

I wish I had the advantage of living near a large dealer that actually hunts like you do to try some of this new stuff out ahead of time. I'm stuck up in the north woods without that kind of aid. I'm not complaining cuz I know enough of the "good guys" around to get opinions on stuff and U R 1 !!

Tom

I had a T2 and felt it was a good machine, but had a few issues. But I won't drop $1000.00 down on another detector unless it's been time proven & road tested for awhile. Now, I can't say I won't buy an F75, but I won't buy new, I'll wait awhile and pick one up used if I decide to try one. But right now, I'm sticking with my Coinstrike & CZ's.
