Am I wrong or right?

Cruising other forum sites, it appears Tesoros largest fan base resides here on Findmall and post on a continual basis.
Shocking to find out on some forums folks still never heard of the Tesoros or wouldn't give them a second glance........
That's good I guess, then the supply of used machines at a decent price will still be found.......

Must admit us folks from across the pond prefer Laser branded detectors rather than Tesoro machines  :ukflag:

Here on the west coast,Canada, there are few Tesoros used to my knowledge .
If there are any used they sell fast.
I wish there was a local dealer for Tesoro, but most new detectorists are unaware of Tesoro
and are conned into a machine that is not suited for Canadian steel coins.

But I don't mind following them :detecting::canadaflag:

Well, For petes sake... Don't go to them other sites and tell them about the Tesoros. There wont be anything left to find. I don't want them to have as much fun as I am having. I don't want them to find all that tot lot gold. Nope, I want it all to myself... KEN

No need to worry, many still look down upon them as toys or wannabe detectors.

I have this conversation with a fella I chat with what is it you don't like about Tesoro ?? there's no screen , there's no disc like a minelab in fact there's no disc at all you have to dig everything I don't have the time or energy do dig everything and I need a complicated disc system because of those reasons. what I hear is I want to use a ctx with patterns I have made to disc out areas like pulltabs so I don't have to dig much and find gold.

I smile on the inside  I like my ctx but a park gold hunter it is not does most everything else but that's one thing it cant do for me. guess we are all different hey :bouncy:

there's all those knobs what are they for etc... until we both get sick of the topic and move on to the next one.

I think Tesoro's either do it for you or they are repulsive just to look at, for me they have taught me to be a better detectorist I believe anyway.

but I do understand that time is the most valuable thing any of us has and some people are living in 2016 and some of us still love the 80's must say the 80's was both a very hard time for me and one of the most exciting also, so I was always drawn to those knobs and switches and analog audio and the simple art of beep dig , sure I might work a bit harder than the next guy but my interesting finds is higher too, the more I dig the luckier I get right

A lot of people for some reason still think the smaller housing detectors may not be as capable as the larger ones. Just look at the way cell phones have evolved thru the years in size and technology...aren't they better today.? I also think that a lot of detectorist are wanting pure "raw depth" from their detectors and Tesoro's are not really known for that. As we all here know... Tesoro's are known for hunting trashy areas well and up to the depths where most of the desirable targets are to be found:biggrin:

We have a Whites dealer working out of the local hardware in our little town. I mentioned to him that I had recently purchased a new Vaquero and that it was working very well for me. He had a blank look like whats a Vaquero.

I've pretty munch owned everthing out there for the most part. I liked them all but over the years I've found that sometimes numbers on screens can sometimes get you into trouble. I find that I start to get to selective (when using a TID machine) on what I dig and by the end of the day a come home with a pocketful of clad coins and maybe a few older coins. When I use my Tesoro the adventure of the treasure hunt comes back. No I'm not punching in 10 inches on a merc dime at a local park but I'm getting around iron and other junk and chances are very good that I'm putting a solid (unknown) conductor (not iron) in my pouch and sure I may not know what I'm digging but I sure know what a nice 14k gold band looks like! Sometimes monster depth matters and sometimes it doesn't. If you know what machine to use in a given site then chances are your finds pouch may have a few keepers in it. Some folks take this hobby very seriously and I get that but for me I'm in it for the most memorable hunts with close friends that no amount of treasure could ever buy. That's my 2 cents worth!

Which is perfectly fine by me with my AT Pro. On the other hand I also enjoy my Tejon. Depth may not matter to some but for me it can at times and locations. I have an old park that's been beathen to death six ways to sundown. I pulled one silver quarter out of it on a few visits last year, and I don't go there much, people kind of gave up on it. But the Tejon pulled out some really old small silvers and some really deep large cents, but I had to work hard for them. I recently got the new 11x8 coil for the Tejon and I am curious as to what it will do in the mineralized soil of that old spot. And I also use the Tesoro for its depth at an old fur trade location............. So I use them both although (I) feel that my AT Pro is a more versatile machine, and I like tones. The more information that I get, the quicker I can make a determination on digging something or not. I have degenerative arthritis in my lower back. I DO NOT want to dig everything, which is my choice. So you see, it's not this one or the other argument for me. I use either type of machine as it suits my desire and capabilities on any given day.

i always recommend tesoros and mention their warranty. but, most all want a screen and un-needed features. guess they think the more fancy it looks and the more buttons it has, the better it is.

I've hunted with a variety of machines but most without screens. Hunting while just listening to my Vaquero is a lot easier than fiddling with settings or trying to get a look at the screen. I use a single side ear phone so I can still hear the area around me. The system is simple and thanks to the quick response time and great discrimination on the machine it goes well. I hit just as many good targets as the next guy.

I think the keys to good depth are coil size, manual ground balance, single frequency for faster recovery times, manually adjustable sensitivity, manually adjustable threshold and finally a detectorist that knows their machine....did I leave anything out? I have a V and I will put it up against anything in terms of depth. and target separation capabilities and I have several machines including the big E, and the 3030 just to name a few.....

I just got a R2 and a new clean sweep coil for my SS micromax. Guess what? Left the R2 at home and took the silver to the park. A handful of clad, two rings, a half dozen pieces of trash and a big smile. Love my Tesoro's!

I think youll find 3/4's of Tesoro members have all flocked over to the Tesoro face book groups. theres a listing for . (All about Tesoro metal detectors) Compadre Group) Tesoro Detectors) and another one is Tesoro Metal detecting group.

SO FAR.
