Am I alone in suspecting the right angle phone plugs may be the culprit ???

The stock phones have a strait plug allowing them to be properly/fully inserted while the right angle plugs may not allow this......

You may have a valid point Ray, the access on the rear of the machine looks pretty recessed.

Sunray plugs are the exact same length as the stock headphones and insert just as far.

I would agree with you Ray but my GG's don't work either and they have a straight plug. I really think it is a wiring issue, or sleeve issue as Randy stated. I do hope that Ralph gets us a fix soon as I have a fresh set of Pro Golds for this detector that I definitely plan on using. Had Pro Golds for my E-Trac and after having them, I can't go back, or elsewhere. -Marc

So, would removing just a little of the plastic on the rim of the headphone plug (not detector!) get the right angle plugs to fit well?
My Gray Ghost Deep Woods have the right angle plug as well. - Albert

Sounds like the Minelab headphone jack is proprietory. I see more and more reports of people not being able to use their favorite headphones.
