I spent a good half hour out with the AT today with it falsing from time to time.I did a reset and checked the connections.I dropped the sensitivity down, then like getting a knock on the head. I found out what it was,my bloody mobile phone. You live and learn.

Wow, that's one to remember!

So, there is a reason to turn off cell phones before takeoffs and landings.

I have that beat big time. I can't believe I'm even telling you this but the very first time a took the AT Pro out, check that, the first time I went out with a detector period, was behind my house. The house is surrounded by farmers' fields so I put my Doc's on cause I couldn't find my rain boots and I didn't want to get all muddy. Well after about an hour of digging all these holes with nothing in them, and these were very loud targets, I was like ''what the heck is going on?''. Finally I remembered that my Doc's were steel toed. Picture this.......I'm in a huge field, all by myself, nobody around for miles, laughing my ass off because I probably pulled the biggest metal detecting goof in the history MDing and I didn't even care because it was just toooooooo funny. Lol. My nephews still tease me about it every damn time I even mention Mding.

Good information:thumbup:

The pro pointer will give a false indication if you have a ring on. So one day, I also noticed it worked fine with my right hand but not the left even with my ring off. Well, my Citizen watch was setting off the pro pointer when I held it in my left hand....

This is your Brain speaking...Please remove all jewelry and empty your pockets of metal and electronic items before detecting...Have a safe and happy hunt...And thank you for using Garrett.
