ALWAYS CHECK- you never know what you got

I have been going through the stuff I found over the years and getting rid of the junk and cleaning the good stuff.
I found this a couple years ago in the water and really thought it was a costume bracelet. It looked corroded and looked like junk.
I saw this and was about to put it in the junk pile and recently got a gold test kit and thought lets practice on it and see what it tests at.
I scraped the gold color on the stone and the 14K acid didn't do a thing.
I was shocked. I took the loop and low and behold I see a tiny little "925" & "14k" on the gold ball end
The first picture is the way I found it, the second is after a half hour in Tarn-x and a lot of scrubbing and the last is after polishing.
Overall its 18 grams but most of its silver
Unfortunately its damaged probably trying to dig it out of the surf so its only good for scrap. Could have sold it more as jewelry.

The moral of the story it to CHECK EVERYTHING- you never know.

That is very cool Lawson! Good post and reminder for us all..:clapping: Congratulations on a unique and valuable find!

I am pretty sure your bangle bracelet is made by David Yurman,,very expensive,,I bought 2 of them all in gold for my wife and even the silver and gold ones are expensive. Look up on Google David Yurman and look at his twisted cable bracelet collections.

Great Find

Thanks for the lead this one is made by Alwand Vahan.
Heres one on ebay, too bad mines damaged

Great,,well even though yours is in a bit of rough shape still is a good find

It really resembles the touch of David Yurman.

Thanks for the info and update

So true! Always know what ya got before tossing it aside. I found two pieces of fine jewelry recovered about 10 years ago I had mistakenly thought was "not". Like lawsonland it was my acid test kit that proved it out. I also took the pieces to my jeweler who confirmed my findings.

Congratulations! Finding good stuff is hard enough. When it turns out to be gold and silver it makes for a great day. I'm glad you tested it, but I'm sure not as glad as your are.

I have seen these somewhere in my travels. I agree with Don, I recall them being pricey. Great find!

The most amazing thing is that somebody actually wore that into the water. Duh!
