Always check the junk pile....

Well, this is a true story! Last week went for a hunt on a regular beach of mine with a mate. After a few hours digging - found a gold ring and three silvers - was already pretty happy! My friend found a small gold/brass coloured target and decided to have it checked by a jeweller! Turned out to be a small gold nugget! Found at the beach!

I remembered I also dug a small funny "hot rock" and distinctly remembered chucking it in the Finds bag along with all the other rubbish, pull tabs, beer caps and nails!

Once home decided to have a check of that junk pile and .... What do you know.... Cleaned and it is.... GOLD!!

Was confirmed by the jeweller as circa 20k

How weird is that, and on the beach also!!!

My buddy found a nice sized nugget a few years back somewhere in Vancouver. He also had it tested. Quite the find.
