Always bring the Etrac too....

GotSilver?

So I went to the Upper Peninisula in Michigan for a fly fishing trip this weekend. We decided to rough it in an old small campground. Figured I'd take the E-Trac with me just in case I had a few min's to swing it around. Well, as luck would have it - grabbed an hour for just that - before we got rained out of course! Ha. Anyway, still using my 10x13 SEF so picking up a bunch of mixed trashy signals of course. Got a nice high tone next to a tree base, along with some other mixed messages. A 12-44 was mixed in so I figured I'd dig it. Out comes the dreaded rusty wire....dang...burned, right? Well, rescan the hole, still hitting that 12-44 in there....dig more....out comes a clad penny....dang....rescan....still the 12-44.....redig a few more inches.....success!!!! Out pops a 1911S Barber dime!!!! In excellent condition too! To this point my only silver has been a1964 Wash qtr. Always gotta bring the E-Trac with you...just in case!!! I ordered a 6" EXcelerator coil that I didn't get yet that I'm hoping might help me in these trashy areas next time. A stolen hour....a good day....
Good luck to all of you....

Congrats on the barber. You're going to love the 6" Eq2 Pro. I use it all the time. In heavy trash and when the 12X10 gets to heavy. I've found dimes at 8" with it , so you're not loosing to much depth with it. The signal was soft, but repeatable.

What A Great Surprise!

I always take my ET when we travel..it is a MUST

Hope you get Many Silvers and take some Pictures Plz

Congrats

Congrats on the finds, that 6" EQ2 is an amazing coil on the Etrac! I like it so much that I will only use the stock coil when there are next to no signals at all but then I hate hunting areas that aren't trashy. Heavy trash means lots of people and coins. Just remember to go slow with it and you will be amazed at the depth you can get. Another plus is you can run the sensitivity high than the stock coil. This will show you many targets at full depth on the meter.

Great little story. Thanks for sharing. Why on earth would you "Fish" for flies??? :poke: Just kidding. You've got (and combined) 2 great hobbies.

You should really do quite well with that coil. Its the one I use 99% of the time when I hunt .Bought mine early 2010 and its still kickin up the coins!! The numbers may vary from the stock coil but you will get used to it. I would'nt trade it for anything!! My post wil be put up here pretty soon and all finds were with the EQ2 PRO. Oh yeah the depth it can get is very incredible.
