Aluminum Straight shaft mounting question

Member
Sounds dumb but which way do the control knobs point when remounting the Excal on to one of those aluminum rods with the protective knob covers?
The knobs towards you or away from you. Thanks.

I think my knobs face outward, check photo, yep Right handed for me and Robrcer, Jaywxman is a lefty (Yellow Headphones) so his point the other way. We make our own shafts, like to build stuff.

Thank you and BTW is the guard plate covering the knobs really a help or hindrance?

I swing with my right arm and have my knobs to the inside so I can get to them without reaching to the other side of the unit. Just my preference. The knob guard is just handy in transporting your detector. I put mine in the back of my jeep with the scoop and other things, and if you let it slip you could break off one of the knobs. I see no protective use for it when I am hunting. Here is a pic.
