Aluminum soda bottle caps, pull tabs, and aluminum cans...

I am new to metal detecting. Started about a month ago. I have a Garrett AT Pro and an E-Trac. Both great machines. I have found bunches of modern coins and find this hobby to be quite addicting. I do parks and fresh water beaches with an occasional volley ball court thrown in. (Gotta love the volley ball courts.....coins coins). Every time I go, however, I try to imagine what coin hunting would be like with a machine like the ones I'm using BEFORE aluminum soda bottle caps, pull tabs, and aluminum cans. There fruggin everywhere.... Makes for lots of extra digging...:detecting:

You could practice raising the coil and see where those targets drop off at. Same with coins. See where they still hit at raising the coil. Always worked fairly well for me..
You might lose a good target or two..but a lot better than digging 50 pop-tops..

a Garrett Gti-2000/2500.
It has a feature called "imaging", but what it does is size the targets; it uses 2 receive windings to do this, and it works
extremely well. You can use the imaging feature intermittent, in p.p., or leave it on all the time, which is what I do. It sizes in disc. just holding it
above the target-you may not get an audio by holding it still-but get an image. This feature works with 2 loops, 9.5 & 12 ".
I do NOT dig large items, unless it is my choice.
