Alternative method to mount GT to pole assembly.

Has anyone figured out a way to mount the GT control box to the pole assembly without using the stock mounting bracket.
Personally I think the mounting bracket with It's plastic release tab is the weakest link on the GT. Yes I know that one can get a new bracket, but I was wondering if anyone came up with another method. Pictures would be great.

Short of gluing a bracket on the detector I really don't know of any other way to do it. I always chest mount my Sovereign. And I don't even have the GT. I have the older XS-2. So I have that V clip mount.
