alternative coil protection?

Just make sure that the product doesn't have any carbon, lead or other metallic substance in it, which could effect the performance of your coil.
 
I've used Flex-Seal and Rustoleum LeakSeal - both are excellent and last along time. (they're near the roofing tar...) Someone mentioned ShoeGoo - I haven't tried it on coils, but based on how well it's done on my hikers, I'm sure that it would do at least as well as the others.
 
Why not a coil cover?

That's why I haven't even put one on since I've owned the machine. Few months...
I'm planning on spraying mine too but so far no problems at all.
I mean after all! they are EPOXY! LOL
