Thinking about the holed coin post brings to mind a dream find for myself.
I would Love to find a seated coin(or other) that had been made into A Love token .
If any have found an altered coins could you post them for us . I found a very interesting
article that has renewed my interest. Just might have to go fishing at the bay (e-bay)

Hi Teri. If you click on the pic to enlarge it...on the bottom right you will see an 1856 Half Dime I found in St. Louis this year. At first I thought the hole was just from normal wear since the coin is worn paper thin. However on closer examination...I can see the hole is placed perfectly centered at the top of the coin...directly above the date in order for it to hang correctly on a string. A lot of people emailed me and told me they were fairly certain it had been made into a love token.

Very cool info Terri! Thanks for sharing.

Bryce that is a great find! Good coin for sure, Beale.

i found a bender, an 1832 bust half dime,i was kinda bent that it was bent
so i stuck it inbetween two pieces of oak and put the jeds to it
i'm really not to sure that i should have done that!
i didn't find out till later that it could have been a love token!
what a dummy!
but still i wish they hadn't done that!

Found this one at the beach. Was found in an area where there has been lots of shipwrecks in the past.I beleive the date is a 1709.It's a British penny.

Hey kid, you made me go back in time to my park hunting days (when I was a wee tot). LOL. This one is my favorite love token (and also my only one). Who ever Ida was, she was worth a lot of time on this piece. Was in an area where Barbers and some Seated were, so I figure it was either of those. Rings silver on the machine, so I'm pretty sure it's a dime. Was lots of fun, looking over all that park stuff I dug as a kid!

Oh George , That is Beautiful . Ida must have been a much loved woman
to warrant such Awesome devotion it took to alter a coin so masterfully :please:
Thanks for posting it .
