What is the best settings for fresh water .I ve been reading different posts an got a idea but not sure so stir me in the right direction.
Wish i could get wet to day but charging battery for good run so help me out here thanks james

It's good to hear that they were finally able to get your detector to you James.

As far as the settings go......

1) Disc, set at the lowest setting and the Disc/pinpoint knob set to disc. (pinpoint is the all metal mode)

2) no notch

3) threshold set to barely audible and then backed off until it just goes silent -OR- barely audible, whichever you prefer.

4) volume set to full or to whatever is comfortable to you.

5) Sensitivity set to 12:00 o'clock (pointed towards coil) or Auto, which is recommended when first learning what the Excalibur is saying to you.

Note: The sensitivity setting will vary according to the type of ground that you are hunting. You'll want to set it in the position that gives you the smoothest threshold with minimum falsing. If you are using the auto setting, the computer automatically picks the setting .

Those are my settings but I am sure that there will be other recommendations coming soon.

I did rather well my first day out till dark almost 3 dollars in change an silver ring . I 'm working ated nugent concert here in waco tx sunday but staying on the site overnight for 2 days nothing but sand.
So i'm going to tear it up tonight till 7 am start at midnight at local club outdoor site should be hoot we will see all to myself
