Along the Docks... Schooner Adventure

Ron J

Active member
Built in 1926 in Essex Shipyards about 10 miles away. Here She is in dry dock at Gloucester Marine Railways in Gloucester Mass. Some hull planking is being replaced. The complete vessel is being restored. If you ever seen the movie, "Captains Courageous" you would realize how tough the vessels and Crew were, and the hardships they endured. This Schooner is one of a handful, that still exist, out of perhaps 4000 that were built in Essex. She is 126 foot in length.
