Almost time to go back to the PHILIPPINES

I thought I would clean most of my coins before my wife and I go back to the Philippines for the winter. I had a total of 1,403 coins. 5 were the dollar coins= $5.00..
200 quarters= $50.00,,
,238 dimes=$23.80,,,
77 nickels=$7.35
232 copper pennies=$23.20
640 clad pennies=$64.00
7 Wheaties=.07
4Canadian pennies= .04

The pennies were put into a rock tumbler with only water and tumbled for 3 hours.
The clad was also tumbled for 3 hours.
That 3rd picture is pennies that would not go through the change counter at the store. So I split them up 3 ways. Put .40 cents into medicine bottles. three of them . As I go to different parks I will bury them about 6"
deep. I will do this in 3 parks. I hope some one will find them. My name will be inside each bottle.. Maybe a reward. Thanks for looking. I did all these coins with my COMPADRE... KEN

Wow your pennies are valuable! Here in Canada 640 pennies are only worth $6.40.

Just kidding around. Have a safe trip.

I know him very well. We talk all the time. He lives very close to where we live. I am taking back with me a Tesoro Compadre for him. WE are planning to do some hunting together. Nice to hear from you. Maybe some day you will make it over their for a winter visit. No one hunts the beaches over their. They are very full of TRASH too. You need a small coin to hunt the beaches... Keep in touch... KEN

I love the penny burial. I will have to try that.
Wish I was going over there. That's one place I haven't been to yet.
Have a great time and a safe trip.
Randy.

I like the buried loot idea, reminds me of the New Mexico Millionaire that hid millions in Gold for treasure hunters to find. I have not visited the Philippines yet, but had an amazing Asian vacation in 2011, and think Asia would be a great place to retire. Enjoy and be careful.

That there is a heap 'O clad! :clapping: I sure hope you can stay in touch with us throughout the winter, you know, send pics of palm trees and warm water, and I wish you scoops of great finds! I like that treasure cache thing too...who knows who will be contacting you when you least expect it from finding one of them?

Get yourself a plastic container.
Put a few scoops of fish aquarium (small) gravel in it and add
vinegar. Add a heaping spoon
of salt to the mixture. Close top and shake it for ten minutes vigorously. If you have
a rock tumbler that would be better but after ten minutes, your pennies will
come out clean. Do the dimes nickels and quarters separately. It works.
DON'T USE CIDER vinegar. Just plain white vinegar.

Ken,

Have a great time and take care. Please take the time to keep us up on your great finds over there. Stay in touch and enjoy!

Well, most of you know by now that my wife and I live in the Philippines during the winter. So , I thought I would show you our house. It is two story. The back of the house is on a hill. So the basement is open. WE have 5 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths,, 2 kitchens. When we are their we have 2 maids. It is very cheap living their. That is my retirement home. The time is 12 hours ahead of Indiana time. So when most of you are sleeping, I might be out Detecting someplace. Yep, we have room for visitors... KEN

0.9654 of a US cent. Todays prices.

But don't try and spend it in Canada. We stopped using pennies this summer. The only value now is as scrap. Or a souvenir of that hunt.

HH in the Phillipines.
