From the land of the Bluenose...had the whole day to myself and took advantage of it. Raided my clad can and the laundry money and put some go go juice in Goquickski and headed to a few of my spots outside of the city limits. It was nice driving down the highway to the blip, blop and smucking of bugs off my windshield which were completely out of rhythem to Pavarotti who was singing his heart out on my tape deck.
As Bob Marley sang "Sun is shining and the weather is sweet. Makes you want to move , put on your dancing feet." and so it was. Light wind kept the bugs at bay and distractions were almost non exsistant. First spot was a lake disected by the highway with one side rocky and the other sand. Only thing missing here were some targets as this spot has been swished to death. Still managed a few coins and bug bites...sneaky little buggers!
From there it was back into HRM (Halifax Regional Municipality) to try a few of the many lakes there. My first stop was the one where I found the 18k diamond ring a few weeks ago. One other person was at this location and she was fishing ...from the beach! Lord love a duck I'd give her something to catch. Didn't say anything to her as she was twice my size and obviously the fishing was terrible. Mister Man I was glad it was daylight for I'd never want to meet her in a dark alley! Anyway she waddled away gracefully with her rod in one hand and her lunch trunk in the other. Added a few coins, saw an osprey and moved on to yet another spot.
The final location for the day was another one of the beaches that is heavily used by swimmers and by this swisher. Here the bulk of my pitiful finds for the outing were recovered. Only thing of note here is that I almost got run over by a kayak as the bouy paddling was not paying attention to what was in front of him but what was laying on the beach. Even at my age can't say I blame him. Total for the day was 26 coins at $5.16
